Reaction Time Test “Arena Showdown”
Block arrows with a shield, grab berries, and strike on the signal. Across three challenges – 10 shields, 10 berries and 10 quick-draw duels – we measure how fast you press in milliseconds (thousandths of a second) and rank you by your average. Every success scores points, and harder levels score more.
Difficulty
The three challenges (in this order)
- 1. Shield Block (×10)Press the button for the direction the arrow comes from (left, up or right) to block it with Ryu's shield.
- 2. Berry Grab (×10)Berries pop up all over – tap them fast to feed Roby. A purple poison mushroom appears once: leave it alone!
- 3. Quick-Draw Duel (×10)Press the instant the “!” appears to strike. Press too early and it's a false start.
On a computer you can also use the ← ↑ → keys for the shield and the Space bar for the duel. Results can vary by a few tens of milliseconds depending on your screen and device.

About the Reaction Time Test “Arena Showdown”
This reaction time test measures how quickly you press after a signal, in milliseconds (thousandths of a second). There are three challenges, played in order: “Shield Block”, where you spot which direction an arrow comes from and block it (10 rounds); “Berry Grab”, where you tap berries the moment they pop up (10 berries); and “Quick-Draw Duel”, where you strike the instant the “!” appears (10 rounds). Your rank is based on the average of the three challenges. Pressing before the signal is a false start and counts as that round's full time limit.
How to play
- Press “Start”, read the instructions shown at the start of each challenge, and press “Ready”. After that, the rounds run back to back.
- Press as soon as the signal appears. For the shield, use the direction buttons (← ↑ → keys on a computer); for the duel, tap anywhere on the arena (Space bar on a computer).
- After all three challenges you'll see your average speed, your rank, and the average and fastest time for each challenge.
FAQ
What is a normal reaction time?
For a simple “press when you see the signal” task like the duel, about 0.2–0.3 seconds (200–300 ms) is a common benchmark. The shield (where you have to tell the direction) and the berry grab (where you have to find the berry) take longer.
What happens if I make a false start?
There are no do-overs: the round counts as its full time limit in milliseconds. The same goes for blocking the wrong way, being too slow, or missing a berry.
Do results differ between devices?
Yes, screen refresh speed and touch or key response can shift your results by a few tens of milliseconds.
